DANGAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

DWC Presents Desi Kushti Rising – an international championship celebrating the art of traditional Pehlwani and Kushti. Honouring  our roots by reviving the sacred tradition that shaped warriors for millennia.

HONORING OUR HERITAGE

Since 2017, Ring of Pakistan has brought international wrestling to Pakistan, packing arenas and putting us on the global map. Now we return to where it all began – the sacred mitti of the Akhara.
The Dangal World Cup honors our 5,000-year wrestling heritage and legends like Gama Pehlwan and the Bholu Brothers. This is not entertainment. This is heritage. This is Pakistan.

2026

THREE PILLARS OF THE DANGAL WORLDCUP

Pakistan’s wrestling heritage is disappearing. In 1947, we had 300 Akharas and 7,000 Pehlwans. Today, only 30 Akharas and 300 Pehlwans remain. The Dangal World Cup fights to keep this tradition alive for the next generation.

Modern sports dominate Pakistani youth culture. By showcasing traditional wrestling on an international stage, we inspire young Pakistanis to reconnect with their cultural roots, embrace discipline, and discover the warrior spirit that defines our heritage.

Wrestling transcends borders. From Turkey’s Yağlı güreş to Mongolia’s Bökh, from Iran’s Koshti Pahlavani to Japan’s Sumo – traditional wrestling unites cultures worldwide. The Dangal World Cup brings these traditions together, fostering respect, friendship, and cultural exchange between nations.

Modern Wrestling vs. Traditional Pehlwani

Ring of Pakistan celebrates both modern prowrestling and traditional Pehlwani. Modern wrestling is entertainment – superstars, storylines, and spectacle. Traditional Pehlwani is pure sport – real matches in sacred mitti using ancient techniques. Both celebrate strength and honor wrestling’s universal language.

THE WORLD COMES TO PAKISTAN’S SACRED MITTI

For the first time, traditional wrestlers from 20+ nations – Turkey, Azerbaijan, China, Russia, USA, Japan,UK, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and more – will compete in Pakistan using Pehlwani rules. They’ll train in our mitti, honor our Akhara culture, and fight for the Dangal World Champion title. This is more than competition. This is the world embracing Pakistan’s heritage.
